In October 2007 Kingdom Partners assisted Acres of Love host their 2nd Annual 100-Hole Golf Marathon...

Acres of Love is a vibrant and growing ministry in Johannesburg, South Africa whose mission is to rescue abandoned and orphaned HIV/AIDS babies and children who have been impacted by the AIDS pandemic that is ravaging Sub-Saharan Africa. The ministry currently operates 12 Forever Homes where 8 - 12 children are cared for by loving house parents in a family environment.

The founders of the ministry had been discussing the idea of a golf event fund-raiser to generate funding for the ministry for a number of years, but the typical 18 hole golf event just didn’t seem to be the right format. For one thing, we discovered that this type of event does not usually raise a significant amount of money for the sponsoring organization. Then the Acres of Love co-founder heard about Kingdom Partners from friends in Santa Barbara who had played in the LifeLine Crisis Pregnancy Center event and the novel approach that Jim Coles and Ron Dee have developed for golf events. The Acres team got involved and after several very informative conversations with Jim, we decided to go for it!

Jim and Ron have thought through the details and they have a proven system to ensure that the event will be successful. As the event team leader and coordinator, I received great encouragement and coaching from Jim & Ron that helped me to keep the progress of the event on track. Because they have helped conduct many golf marathons, they know exactly where we were supposed to be at every step along the way.

We recruited 28 golfers and had an absolutely fantastic time on the day of the actual event. I was concerned that it was going to be too long on the course but all the golfers had such a great time that we could hardly get them in for the awards dinner!

Our First Annual Acres of Love 100 Hole Golf Marathon was a huge success – we raised just over $125,000- and every time I see one of the participants, they keep raving about what a wonderful time they had. We have already booked the course for our Second Annual and we look forward to working closely with Jim & Ron to make sure we have another successful event.

"It is with great joy that I recommend the work and ministry of Kingdom Partners.  The Pocket Testament League retained them in the fall of 2007 for a golf marathon fund-raising event and had a wonderful experience.  The experience of working with the Kingdom Partners staff was tremendous.  They were kind and gracious.  Having a PGA teaching professional available for the on course golf lessons was a terrific tool to attract qualified fund-raisers.  Their process has been clearly defined.  They know the pitfalls and things to avoid in hosting a major fund-raising event.  They

In October 2007 Kingdom Partners assisted California's LifeLine Crisis Pregnancy Center host a 100-Hole Golf Marathon...

Ernie Brigham, former Chairman of the Board for LifeLine Crisis Pregnancy Center, says "With only 22 pro-life golfers we were able to raise $81,000 in our annual 100-Hole golf marathon.  The net proceeds keep increasing every year that we have implemented Kingdom Partners fund-raising plan."

In September 2007 Kingdom Partners assisted British Columbia's WomanCare Pregnancy Center host a 100-Hole Golf Marathon... 

On behalf of WomanCare, a Pregnancy Resource Center in Maple Ridge, British Colombia, Canada, I would like to share with you our experience at hosting a golf marathon.

The purpose of the Marathon was to raise funds for our center.  At first we thought the idea of organizing such an event too daunting.  However, with the expertise of both Jim Coles and Ron Dee from Kingdom Partners, we found it to be a very attainable project.  We appreciated the professionally produced resource material along with the enthusiastic help from Jim and Ron.

We have hosted two Golf Marathons, one in 2005 and one in 2006.  We raised more money than we expected from both of these events.  The enthusiasm from the golfers has been so positive.  We look forward to continuing to hold our annual Marathon for the foreseeable future.
